Filter
Extraction or recirculation?
If you do not have the opportunity to mount vents on your cooker hood so that the cooking ooze is led out of the home, then a charcoal filter can be retrofitted in your cooker hood. A carbon filter cleans the air of cooking fumes, odors and smoke that come during cooking before the air is discharged back into the room. This is called recirculation.
TIP
Turn on the hood before cooking, it maximizes the capacity of the hood. Leave the hood running for 15 minutes after cooking, to ensure the last cooking fumes are removed.
You should not open windows while the hood is running, as it affects air circulation and removes the low air pressure.
Choose a cooker hood that is at least as wide as your hob for best performance.
