Scandomestic’s Data Control and Role

Scandomestic A/S (hereafter Scandomestic) processes personal data about its customers, including end users of products, in order to be able to handle the service and exchange of goods for customers.

Categories of Personal Data

As part of the service we provide to our customers, we process the following categories of personal data:

  • Common personal data such as name, address, telephone number and email address.
  • Information about the product model, date and place of purchase and serial number of the products about which you are enquiring.
  • Description of defects and deficiencies in products, including the cause of damage.
  • The purpose and legal process for our processing of personal data
  • The purpose of our data processing is to handle enquiries from customers and to service products for end users.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data is: the agreement that has been entered into for the provision of a service that forms part of the purchase of the white goods product - cf. article 6 (1) (b) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation; the legitimate interest of Scandomestic in carrying out the task as efficiently as possible - cf. Article 6 (1) (f) with regard to disclosure of contact information to service partners; and the duty of Scandomestic to process data in order to comply with a legal obligation incumbent on the company - cf. Article 6 (1) (c), for example with regard to storage of accounting material.

Disclosure of Your Personal Data

We only disclose personal data to others if there is a legal obligation to do, or to extent necessary for Scandomestic to fulfil its agreement to provide services to customers. In the context of service cases, we disclose personal data to our service partners in Denmark and abroad, and data about the service case to the dealer of the product.

Storage and Deletion of Your Personal Data

Your personal data will be stored for as long as we have an ongoing service case for you. When the service case has been concluded, your personal data will be kept for as long as there is an objective purpose for this. On this basis, we store all data about service cases during the warranty period plus 12 months (up to 6 years), and, in accordance with the Danish Bookkeeping Act, data included in accounting material for 5 years. We also store data that may be relevant to a possible legal claim for 3 years under the statute of limitations or until the claim has finally been settled by a court of law.

Job Applications

Scandomestic collects and processes personal data about you as part of the job application and recruitment process.

If you apply for a job at Scandomestic, the following personal data will be processed: name, telephone number, email address and any information requested in the job advertisement and whatever else you submit as part of your application.

When you send us your application, we process your data in order to assess your suitability for the position, including whether or not we will invite you to an interview. We never disclose personal data to third parties, unless you expressly consent to this: for example, by sending your application via a third party. The legal basis for the processing is Article 6 (1) (b) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The processing is necessary to implement measures at your request prior to the conclusion of any employment contract. If you become a Scandomestic employee, we store your data in accordance with our personal data policy for employees. This is outlined in the contract.

If Scandomestic does not hire you, we delete your application and any additional personal data. We also delete unsolicited applications that we cannot use.  

Your Rights

You have the right to access your data and correct any errors at any time. In certain cases, you have the right to have your data deleted, to have the processing restricted, to object to the processing and to have your data provided digitally.
