Carbon filter
Exhaust or recirculation?
If you do not have the opportunity to install an exhaust on your cooker hood so that the cooking fumes are led out of the home, then a carbon filter can be retrofitted in your cooker hood. A charcoal filter cleans the air of cooking fumes, odors and smoke before the air is released back into the room. This is called recirculation.
TIPS
Turn the cooker hood on before cooking, this maximizes the capacity of the cooker hood.
Let the cooker hood run for 15 minutes after cooking, to ensure the last of the mados is removed.
Do not open windows while the cooker hood is running as this will affect air circulation and remove low air pressure.
For best performance, choose a cooker hood that is at least as wide as your hob.
